That particular Swatch is on everyone's wish list, here...even mine, and I don't even own a Swatch.

I have every intention of buying a few when they come out. This is a very important watch and I can't wait to get my hands on one.

It is the very first mechanical watch ever to be fully assembled by a machine. Up until now, nobody has been able to manufacture a mechanical watch that didn't require some sort of human labour to finish the watch.
This is the first watch to achieve that and it's quite a milestone that can lead the way to a lot more mechanical watches at lower price points.

It's a milestone in watch making.
Whether one likes it or not, it has something that only a few other watches have ever had: it changed horology.

It does have a lot going for it since it was manufactured with just 51 parts too. Most mechanicals have a lot more than that. The 90 hour power reserve is damn impressive too. Only my Blancpain in my collection beats that at 100 hours. The price point is reported to be between 100-200 Swiss Francs (~$107-$214 USD). Regulation is done using a laser in the factory and is supposed to be around 5 sec/day. Here're the highlights from their webpage and the link to the full story follows: Swatch Sistem51 • World premiere: fully automated assembly of a mechanical movement • 51 components – Swatch’s lucky number • 1 central screw • 90 hour power reserve • Swatch – 100% Swiss made www.swatchgroup.com/en/services/archive/2013/swatch_sistem51

Yep ALL answered its a 'milestone' in watch making. 51 Pcs and under $150 From a group that makes some of the best (most expensive) watches in the world - proves that you can also innovate cheaply.
I hope to get one for the display. a 'fitting' last piece Regards

Once it's assembled the movement is completely sealed in its case. No issues with dust etc.
I'm glad to hear it'll be available with different dial options. I'm not a fan of this dial
