I'm sure most of you already saw and read all about this but after discovering it on the Rolex site last night I had to post. A while back I recall reading about James Cameron and this record dive before but did not actually see any of it. A truly amazing chunk of steel! I tried it on at an AD...it's ginormous! I like it, though! Need to correct..I was referring to the DSSD!

Oh cool! I wonder what the list price is in USD for this piece. It makes the regular Deepsea look like a kids watch It would be cool to have one of these and keep it in the safe for the long run! You didn't happen to see the box, did you? Surely it can't be a regular one?

I'm glad you enjoyed this as much as I did. It's such a neat achievement how they were able to make this happen without the use of some other things other brands used in similar watches. I believe one B&R had oil in the case to equalize pressure or something but that's if I recall correctly.
In an article found online dated before the release it was said to be priced anywhere from €20,000.00- €25,000.00 which would be $26,370.00 - $32,963.00 USD at today's rate. Still not sure how many pieces were or will be made though. Anyhow I had all of the watches on my list with loads of money to spend this would be such a nice piece to buy and hold. It would be so neat taking it out of the safe just to look at and play around with.

Can you wear it with cargo shorts and a t-shirt?
I know, painful joke. But is is literally a magnificent piece of engineering and craftsmanship. Truly amazing...

I think you could pull it off After looking around to see if any other videos or images came up for this piece there was no luck yet This certainly is an incredible achievement by Rolex and will be worth it's weight in gold for marketing the dive watches. Notice how they have James Cameron wearing a regular Deepsea in the video with his suit. Now that all of the new models are out it's safe to say Rolex did a VERY good job in terms of offerings and variety. Back in the day for the professional models they were all essentially the same give or take a few mm's in case / crystal thickness for the Sea-Dweller. Now for someone wanting only Rolex who has a good chunk of change to spend on steel models can get an Explorer II, Milgauss, Submariner, GMT Master II and Deepsea Sea-Dweller which have their similarities but are much more different in comparison to the past pieces. It's amazing to think that a sapphire crystal, some metal and what has to be a special triplock crown could survive SOO far under water with tonnes upon tonnes of pressure on it. It would be neat to find out what the heck Rolex did with that crown to make this possible

Not a problem, Darren From time to time I'll keep an eye out and see if any updates or further content is available. It would be neat to hear from a watch maker who worked on this or knows more about the technical site case wise.
