I had no intention of another purchase after the Seiko but I saw something today that even though I have never heard of the company and have no idea what movement is inside every part of me said, BUY IT! I have wanted a vintage chronograph for so long, one of the small post WW2 styles. Well. I found a vintage watch seller in Canada today who had one! He had just knocked $100 off the price and as my PayPal balance is in US funds I ended up saving almost another $50! I will post his pictures below but briefly (i have asked him for details on the movement and if he knows anything about the company) The watch was made by the Swiss watch company "Fellow watch" I know, odd name. It is a two register vertical 30 minute chronograph with blued steel hands and I think a pale blue Tachymeter around the outside of the dial. The watch has been fully serviced before sale and all is working perfectly and keeping good time according to the seller. It is the perfect size for me, 34mm with lovely big faceted round chrono pushers. Hand wound movement. New Hirsch strap though I just know this one is made for a NATO! So. I am certifiable but heck. I have no debts, no family to keep and am in so many other respects very prudent so sometimes it is good to go a little mad.. I have FOUR watches on their way to me!!
Here are some pictures from the seller..

I've never seen an enabler, self-enable. That's an intriguing concept!
Oh, and a cool looking vintage piece too.

Honestly Roger. I think its time they put me in the white coat and transported me to the funny farm!
There was zero hesitation with this one. I just knew I had to have it. He has his watches professionally serviced before sale and a thirty day warranty so there is peace of mind as well.

Ian, we are scarily similar in our buying patterns. I like that one more than the others, as well. I can't wait to see the pics.

Thanks Joe and Kat. I agree, this is something much more special. It was obviously not at the bottom end price wise but I think I got a great deal. It just really tugs at my heart strings and I just know I am going to have a lot of fun with NATO's and those rough leather straps that you see on these vintage pieces. something like this, what do you think? Kat, I noticed we were on similar patterns. I must admit part of this is down to me just wanting to get through my mums anniversary and hark back to past times that were so much quieter though each piece I have purchased has a significance in my history including this one as one of my Uncles had a vintage chronograph very similar to this and I always admired it.

You go, Ian! I'm also debt free (never had any to be honest) and would do the same with watches if my current cash flow allowed for the ones on my list. Life's short and we MUST live every day to the fullest! Have no regrets and keep it up! I got a quote from an old friend from the UK a few years back, it went something like this 'All men die, not all men have truly lived'. After looking into it, he may have gotten it from the film Braveheart but it's very true and applies to females as well, of course. That being said, I too make it a point to live my dreams and make the most of every moment. My watch obsession has brought me some of the best memories and friends in my entire life so far. They're worth every cent!

Thanks so much Rommel, I really appreciate your thoughts. I just realized that I did not say how old it is. The seller says its late 40's early 50's so a lovely age for a vintage watch I think!

That's a nice age, I love that design too. Your collection is becoming a miniature museum of horology! One things for sure, It'll be a nice feeling when all of them arrive.

Thanks Chip, it really is nice and crisp but still with that lovely patina and knowing it has just had a service gives peace of mind. I had a note from the seller today. He is shipping it tomorrow so it will be here Monday!

Keep your collective fingers crossed folks, Derek ( whom I highly recommend from the dealings I have had with him thus far with this watch.. dsreid.com/index2.htm ) will mail it tomorrow and according to Canada post its guarenteed next day or two day (business days) delivery to major urban centres in Canada so fingers crossed they count London Ontario as a major urban center! As that will mean it should be here on Friday!
