Meeting clients with Speedy again. Sent from my Moto X using ProBoards I met with a client for Happy Hour, which turned into 4 hours! I was wearing the AP. When I use to have the SD I use to be self conscience about getting spotted in public. But not so with thus one. Isn't that funny?

Thats what I like about the haute Horology brands Roger. You have to be an enthusiast to recognize them otherwise they fly under the radar which is a thing I love about them! I never tire of see that beauty!

Nick Cage goes to the exotic car dealer and when he's offered an brand new Ferrari he refuses saying he sees them every day parked at bars and coffee shops and if he drives one he would be like everyone else. However, if he had a vintage, less known to the general masses, he'd be a connoisseur. (Thank you autocorrect for that last word lol)
A bit different situation but similar in some ways. AP is recognised by those in the know, Rolex by all.

When I use to have the SD I use to be self conscience about getting spotted in public. But not so with thus one. Isn't that funny? I think Ian said it best, about Haute Horology! Unfortunately, to the average guy, a Rolex has that stigma: "Look at me, I have a Rolex so people will take notice." It's as though you are guilty without the chance to be proven innocent. You really love the watch, and are not out to impress anyone. I have never had the type of profession where I had to worry about what my client thinks. It's very easy to say "Don't worry about what others think." What some people don't understand is that people do sometimes have to worry, especially when their livelihood depends upon it. We all have issues that, at one time or another, we do have to worry about. I can totally understand your comfort level with the AP as opposed to the SD. Cheers, Carl

Mark II this evening and for the weekend! Cheers Carl LOVE IT Carl. That's a real beauty (and you know I'm not usually a chrono fan). It just oozes class. Thanks Roger. I never really was a chrono fan either, until I had my first Speedy. And I had a couple of Seamaster models, but would not have a chrono. The Speedy just seems to have that X Factor, I guess. As well, when I look at the dial on the Mark II, it is anything but simple. Like my other watches, for example. Not even a date function! Yet, when I look at this dial I don't see clutter or excessiveness, even though there is a lot going on. Cheers, Carl

Both of your OWC models get me every time! I look at them and think that one could not possibly do better, at any price. I love how is wears size-wise on the wrist. Even though it's about the same size as the Rolex Sub, it seems to wear a bit smaller. It definitely has a personality all it's own. Cheers, Carl
