As the title says. At last I have found a watch made in my birth year (1963) that ticks the boxes for me. Its the very first Timex Electric made in West Germany. This one uses a really nice quality Electric movement, the model 67. This is of much higher quality than the last Timex Electric I purchased. It comes with box but no papers and is working a treat. The second hand on these early German made Electric movements ticks like a quartz rather than sweeps like the later versions. Now, you would think this a down side but you have to remember that this is essentially a mechanical movement with some electronics and a battery making the balance swing so to get it to tick in one second increments was a hard thing to achieve back in those days! Here is a picture of the watch. When Carl saw the picture of it this morning he reminded me that the numbers are the spitting image of the vintage style Glashutte's! Bauhaus! Will post better pictures once it arrives. Its in Canada so should not be too long. Oh, and of course.. I got it for a song!

Congratulations, Ian! A birth year watch is something rather special for any collector. It's nice that you found one coming with the box and all.

Thanks Chip. Now I have uploaded one video I have just taken a minute long HD video of the Omega Tuning Fork watch. I know you dig those movements so once I have uploaded it I will post a thread in the Omega section of the video!

Can't wait to see it next week. Fascinating, all of the small details. Once again, I love the font used for the arabics. Like the Glashutte Senator 60 Series, shows it's German roots. Cheers, Carl

Cheers Carl. He has not mailed it yet so I don't hold much hope for it being here next Saturday unfortunately but who knows!
