It does eh Roger but its not. Its a brass dial with applied sunken numerals, The dial has a micro brushed finish. it looks like silk at normal viewing distance!
This again, as with the case is the prototype dial. From what I have been told all the components of it were made by machine but at this stage it was hand assembled so all those numbers were stamped out of metal then hand applied to the sunken indentations in the dial.
Once the design received approval they simplified this to a one stamp process. The dial has a gloss lacquer over it. I love that this is such a sleeper watch. no one knows how hand assembled this is (apart from us on the forum) To everyone else its just a normal vintage Timex!

Art, its all American made at the former Timex headquarters in Waterbury Connecticut .
