Well. In a million years I did not see this coming. I met with Carl today, first time in quite a few weeks due to life getting in the way.
He said to me in a PM here that he had something new to show me when we met up so of course my mind wandered to what delectation Carl had purchased that I could feast my eyes upon.
So there we are having coffee and I can wait no longer and ask, "so what did you get" He then pulls out a Cartier box so of course my mind is thinking, what Cartier did he get, I did not remember him mentioning any others than the one he has taking his fancy.
So, I open the box and there sitting inside is not a Cartier but his beautiful Waltham RCAF genuine military issue watch! I must admit to two of the seven deadly sins with this watch, lust and envy!
Ever since the day he got it I have coveted that watch and vowed to myself one day to get one of my own. Well, thanks to the ever generous Carl I now do!
Yes, he gifted me this beautiful watch, my flabber was and is truly ghasted!
I am so grateful to you Carl, I know you know this but it has gone to a very good home and will be worn a great deal, I am wearing it right now in fact!
What a guy Carl is, I know most of you know what a generous soul he is but you have not had the best pleasure of all that I have had and that is to have gotten to know him in person and am fortunate to be able to call him friend.
Cheers mate, your a bugger! ( For my non English friends, thats an English term of endearment in circumstances such as this!)
So, some pictures that I have just taken.
Oh, one more thing that Carl did not realize but I pointed out. I now have both the latest official mil-spec aviators watch in the Marathon and one of the first official Mil-spec aviators watches in the Waltham RCAF, how cool is that!
