Oh man, sorry to hear that. Still so young and with young kids too. Just terrible.

Very sad news indeed about your coworker, Chip. What a lovely family he is leaving behind. Here I am, 30 years older than him, still enjoying my life. Sometimes, it does us well to remember tragedies like this when we get down. There has to be some good come of things like this, and to me it makes me more sensiitive to the good things in my life. Even like putting on my beautiful Mark II every day before I go to work! The things in life that we take for granted!
Cheers, Carl

A bit late today. That's the thing about getting older: You don't show up as often, and when you do, you are quite often late!
Cheers, Carl

Had occasion to be downtown today. I stopped in at the watchmaker who deals in pre owned watches, and where I leave my watches on consignment often when I want to sell them. They happened to have just receieved this most beautiful 2008 Seamaster Broad Arrow GMT. There are still a few around to be had new, retailing for $8100. The owner is asking $3750CAD. It has just had a complete service by Omega, a new leather strap, and it looks brand new. I have rarely seen a Speedmaster that I like as well as this one. It has a beautiufl greyish/beige dial, and to me the whole watch just blows the new ceramic Grey Side of the Moon out of the water. I wish that I had had my camera with me to get a wrist shot. But here it is. The pre owned watch looks identical, not a mark on it: Cheers, Carl

I do like that Carl, particularly the red date numbers. That would make a nice alternative to your collection I think, the price is great as well especially when you think it's pretty much like new having had a service

A very fair price considering it had a 900 dollars factory service.

Enablers! Each and every one of you !!! Funny thing is, I made the post because I wanted to share the beautiful watch, especially since I like it a lot better than the Grey Side of the Moon. I just sold two of my watches, and have put the money aside for next year after Basel 2015. Now I am really wondering if I should just go for this one.

Here is a nice photo of it, love this one! You would love the strap as well, Ian. Just about identical to the one on my Z-33.

Well, you could always buy it, wear it and then if something in Basel really takes your fancy put it up for sale for the same amount you paid for it as the original owner has taken a hit with the price but I don't think as long as you did not use it for work it's going to lose any more in the next year!

Looks great!
What does the 74 stand for? I see that on a lot of PAM straps.
You're making me want to wear mine now.
