Agreed, design makes it or break it when it comes to thickness and diameter.
The 47mm and very thick PAM looks okay on me but a 45mm PO looks like a tuna can on my wrist.

It's amazing how that works. I first saw this with my Fortis B-42 Cosmonaut. It was of course 42 mm in diameter but wore much larger and was a nice fit for me. The Planet Ocean was difficult at times to keep out of harms way. Harder to glance at the time if under a shirt cuff and didn't toast my bread as some say. Everyone seems to be going larger which is fine BUT the thickness is the toughest pill to swallow. Panerai is another amazing brand with great history that'll make people want one more.
The funny thing is, even the guy at the Omega AD told me the new Planet Ocean Chrono was not a great fit for me (it was so obvious). Even he was wearing a Rolex (Datejust with diamond hour markers). He showed it to me with pride and told me how he used to work for Rolex and so on. It's an uphill battle for everyone to compete with this. Simply the most widely recognized, iconic pieces around. The average Joe might not venture really far into the world of Haute Horology.
With a Rolex, Panerai, Audemars Piguet in ones collection what else could there be to want really? That of course is subjective but the numbers do speak for themselves.

That's awesome! Excellent taste you guys have. These brands and the benefits offered make them difficult to avoid. Even our resident Omega ambassador carl cut down his modern Omega collection (for now). The more you look into it the more you clearly see these things are so popular for a good reason.

Rolex. Omega. Breitling. Panerai. Hamilton. Seiko. Damasko. Swatch. I have too many to name them all, so just listed the big guns, so to speak. I really need to thin the herd....

Sorry I haven't been participating as much with all the great Basel news. I was in Phoenix at a conference since Sunday and came home to a huge pile in my inbox that has to be dealt with by COB Friday. Some REAL exciting releases this year for a change. Love the OP39, DD40, RG YM, and Globemaster. These last two have me the most excited, although the DD40 could be a nice retirement watch for me in a decade or so.

It's official, the CFO likes the white speedy. Now if Omega isn't too full of themselves when it is released, maybe there will be another incoming.
Agree with all about the company, but do you know what? As long as people are buying them in their repackaged format, Omega will keep tossing out the variants. Works with every business.
And other than price, is Rolex really a better brand mechanically or do they have marketing so down to an ultra fine science that the public salivates at their ads, videos, promotional merchandise, and other various sundry bullsh*t?

aerome, do have her try it one before you buy. The other variants of the Black and Grey Side are too thick even for me.

Yes, it's a very big watch, and white will make it look even larger. It's over 45mm.

What the heck? Why further limit their market for for piece? It looks nice but again with the size issue... A lot of women won't want to or won't be able to pull that off. A lot of men just won't like it. All that money for this watch and you'll still need something more versatile. I've seen a lot of folks on forums like TRF over the years who make great money but only want 1, maybe two watches tops. I have fairly big hands with skinny wrists and I'm not entirely sure I could make that work for me as a man.

It WILL wear larger, because it's white, and most women don't want 45 mm watches.. If they are targeting women, they missed the bullseye...
