Nice choice Ron. I think Rolex hit the mark with the 40mm version.

Ron, that's a nice piece but I don't think it can hold a candle to that platinum DD. Those are amazing.

Very nice but if it was for me I would choose the platinum blue dial.

Luckily for me, it's a choice I'll never have to make. Way way above my pay grade. I'll just gawk at whichever Ron decides to go with, none are bad choices in my book.

I'll add my name to the platinum pool, but like Chip my pay could never justify it. The rose gold is a much more affordable, but still no cheap, option.

That's one heck of a way to end 2014! Great choice and I can't wait to see the incoming topic months down the road!

I narrowed it down to ether the platinum or rose gold Rolex Day Date 40

You already have gold covered, I'd go for platinum too

Platinum, without a doubt! I love the look of Rose Gold but in your shoes wouldn't mind having both a Gold and Platinum piece! A good problem to have though!!!

Platinum. But see how rose gold looks on the wrist. Various skin tones bring out the gold.

My family members went up to Fashion Island shopping center today in Newport Beach. I told them to stop by Traditional Jewelers and take a look at the new Rolex Day Date 40 models. Traditional has all the new precious medal models in stock. My family likes the rose gold model best because I have a yellow gold already and the platinum model looks like lead or steel and it's so heavy. I like a watch with heft to it. Next Sunday I will take a trip up there and take some wrist shot photos and see what you guys think.
