Steve - I've never even seen one! Looks like a mechanical alarm watch - is that correct? I like the Tudor rose dials.

Exactly Roger, Tudor is now making a Heritage line of the same watch, just larger (like everything these days) I think it's a 34mm or 36, not sure.

It's a cool function, but the size would keep me away - 38 mm is about as small as I can go with 7.25" wrists. Also, if you decide to flip it later, while it might be uncommon and a bit rare, I'd have to wonder what the size of the potential buyer pool would be. There's a pretty strong market for the vintage Tudor subs and day-dates, but not sure about this model. It took me a longer than I expected to sell the Blancpain, but at least the inquiries I did get were serious buyers rather than the people looking for a steal to flip and make a quick buck like when I sold my Sea Dweller.

It looks alright. You might have a job moving it when you tire of it, though. They are under a grand for a reason...
My 'Advisor' would be: pass!

I wonder sometimes why pieces are valued higher than others having been originally priced and more or less the same amount produced. They couldn't give Daytonas away in the 70s , now look at them.

If it were something you really loved for years and wanted as a keeper in the collection by all means, go for it. But, with any chance of you wanting to flip this in the future I too would stay away from it. Under those circumstances something that's supposed to bring joy quickly becomes a pain... Been there, done that with my Omega's before. This is why I'm not too keen on having many watches unless they're of certain brands that appeal to me, more likely to increase or hold value etc. Either way, if you somehow did like this enough, take the chance.

Steve - the good thing at this price point is if purchased well, you generally can't lose much even if it takes time to flip later.

Decided against it and pooled my resources and bought another 1680. Original owner, complete with a beautiful 127 top hat which is original to the watch, It will be pressure tested since it's the original and hopefully it passes. If not I'll have to look for a replacement 127. Sorry guys, no pics yet, it's getting serviced

I am non committal so I never will say it's a keeper again. It is nice and dirty and scratched which I love to see. Hasn't been in a collection and fussed with.
