Hi gang. I have a good friend who just inherited his grandfather's Longines watch, circa 1940. He wants to know a good watchmaker to send it to to give it a proper service. I know of no indy's here in town (Dallas) so I thought I would reach out for recommendations. Maybe Archer could chime in or maybe Chip or Charlie. Thanks all.

Don't send it to the guy I'm using in Mississippi. I took him one of my watches in January and I still don't have it back. Sorry I can't help. Just wanted to vent!

P.M sent to Al
I do have a very good contact in Dallas who specializes in Rolex. He will work on other brands. I found him with the help of a very well known Dallas based vintage Rolex dealer, who sends a lot of his work there.
I recently took a friends mothers Lady President in to him. When he opened the watch, Ralph discovered from the case back inscriptions, that he was the last guy to work on the watch back in May 2001. He turned the watch around in 3 weeks. The watch was still working well, she just wanted a service and new crystal. The only other part replaced was the mainspring.
He works out of his home and has watches shipped into him from all over the country.
If anyone is interested, send me a PM and I will send you his contact information.
