Went to see a watchmaker today to swap backs on the Speedmaster and he had this really neat 1943 Skyrocket to show me. I didn't even know about this watch! Just 30mm across, it was assembled in Canada during WW II, to be used by their fighter pilots. The assembly was done there to avoid taxes and customs. This is all original (minus the band) and has never been polished. It also has a signed dial, which is my understanding that not all of them had. Anyway. If it wasn't 30mm and if i wasn't broke, I would have bought if from him. He was asking 1200.

Never seen anything like it either, but only 30mm is a killer.

That's a beauty and in nice nick too. I love coming across old treasures like that one.

Rolex made quite a few watches in this time that were for the Canadian market. That one, or the Raleigh, the Royalite, etc.
They are neat little watches, but small.

I'm constantly learning about new watches on the forum. A shame its so tiny but a cool watch with a rich history nonetheless.
