I love the clean simplicity of the Explorer I, but the design of the 2254.50 is hard to beat.

You're right.
I think the 2254.50, along with the Speedmaster pro, are the quintessential Omegas.

I had a midsize model, and loved it. One of the few watches I had that I regret selling.

Same here. I had a rare titanium version that was sold on the Bond bracelet. The standard Ti came on 2254 style bracelet.

Those watches are great. Very popular and the first time I saw one in person it was clear. Many years back I also remember seeing the chronograph version and being blown away by it. Omega has made some watches that can easily be considered among the best. Not much else to desire with one of those in the collection.

Agreed. The sword hands and wave dial are the bomb. I had the white dial GMT version, sold it and miss it.
