To top it off, pawnshopkiller threw in another strap and clasp. He's a class act.

It received a new crown, new stem, and new tube. I'll have it back tomorrow! Unbelievable speed, 48 hours from drop off at usps to back in my hands. That is amazing. Especially for a vintage piece. My Oris Diver 65 took exactly 2 months, almost to the day, to get the same parts: new crown, new stem and new tube. And mine is new! Look how long your Rolex lasted before it needed those parts, assuming this is the first time they were replaced, and I bet it is. I hate to sound like a snob, but I genuinely believe nobody makes a better watch. Others might make a better looking watch, a more artsy watch, but not a better built watch.

Well, definitely not being a snob, you are just saying after years of experience with all brands. Perhaps others might disagree, but after years of flipping watches, I am feeling the same way. Even the lovely Zenith Pilot Bronze does not give me the same, secure feeling that I would have wearing a Rolex. The Grand Seiko Quartz I have left and the Tudor BB36 come the closest. The Oris I have is a great watch for aesthetics, but I know that it will never give me the same pleasure as before.

The DJ is already back in my hands, slightly less than 38 hours from dropping it off at USPS. And what a guy Roscoe is! What. A. Guy. I sent head only, and it came back with THREE straps, two buckles, and, the icing on the cake, a period correct inner and outer Rolex box!! I'm speechless! Thank you, pawnshopkiller! You are a great guy, and a great friend.

Awesome! Roscoe is a good dude. Got to meet him for dinner and MANY drinks last year when I was traveling for work. I may get back down there this summer for work again.

That is just great news, Chip. That alligator strap looks fantastic as well. Glad to see this all worked out so well for you. As Rommel says, you certainly deserve such treatment!
