I got another offer of $18,000.00 I stand by my original statement. Without a better selling history, you can probably sell it easily between $17,500 and $18,500. I see you’ve already given up on keeping it at $21,000 until 2019. I missed the delivery today by 30 minutes. I will pick it up tomorrow at the post office and take some photos of it in the watch coffin, untouched by human hands and post it up for sale for $21,000.00, then lock it up in my safety deposit box at Chase bank. I will try for $21,000.00 until new years day 2019. What do you guys think of that scenario? I think you are dreaming. The best you are going to get is $18,000 +/- $500 without having the credentials of the big time re-sellers in the marketplace.

Most people without a “sellers reputation” are selling NIB between 17-18k. I’d take $18k if I were you. Only the big grey dealers are getting 19-20k

The new guy offered me $18,500.00, but I think he will go for the $19,000.00. Wish me luck. Maybe you guys can get Roger drunk and we can push it off on him for $20,000.00. He won't know what the hell he is doing.

Not sure what getting Roger drunk will accomplish, as we have three other moderators here, so you’d have to get us all drunk. Hope your sale goes through.

I didn't know about discussing sale price on my Daytona. Sorry.

It’s a highly desirable piece, that’s for sure, but I’m certain he would like it more at retail.
We all know by now what the target price is, so it’s best we no longer talk about that.

The idea of paying any amount of money over MSRP is totally beyond my grasp. I often say that a luxury item needs no justification in it's purchase. But inflating the price of an item beyond it's full MSRP is beyond moral principle. Although not illegal, totally dishonorable in my view. Not to mention greedy. Unless I was in total dire straits, and had to sell an item in that manner to raise money for a life-or-death situation, for myself, a family member or loved one, it would be totally unconscionable to me.
I have happily paid full MSRP, although not often, for a watch. But there is no item I would pay more than full MSRP for. It would totally destroy any pleasure I might otherwise get from owning that item.
After what I have read on many of the watch forums regarding the Daytona there is, as Roger says, too much bad karma associated with that model for me to ever consider getting one at any price.
Cheers, Carl

carl - I’d buy one at MSRP if my AD called me and the cash was available. I was just saying that if Ron offered me his at MSRP or even less, because of the history associated with buying it only to profit after he’s flaunted his net worth in our faces, I would not buy from him.

Roger, watch the 1987 movie Wall Street. I like when Michael Douglas says greed is good.
