Just saw this on another forum. Someone has revived the Le Jour brand (French before the quartz crisis) and started out with some chronos based on past designs. No word on where these are being made now, but I’d think if it were France or Switzerland, they’d say. Here are the specs. 42.5mm Swiss ETA Valjoux 7750 automatic chronograph movement Matte White dial with Black sub dials & Tachymeter ring Brushed finish 316-L surgical stainless steel case and bracelet with caspa pins with polished bezel and sides Sapphire crystal with anti-reflective treatment 200 meters water resistance Super Luminova on hands and indices 2 year warranty I think they killed it with the off-white panda version. www.bernhardtwatch.com/collections/frontpage/products/le-jour-mi-005There is a coupon code (LJ-20) for 20% off through 2017, which brings it down to $1600.

I'm a fan of this one, it looks great! Seems well made too and a nice options for a Chronograph.

It’s one of those watches that I love in photos, but they don’t look right on my wrist.
I like it, and I have a dealer friend that’s a huge fan of the brand, he has several vintage pieces.
No clue what the resale on it will be, I’d guess around a grand, so if it’s not a keeper I’d say look around some more.
Earlier today I ran across a freshly serviced Omega Speedmaster Mark (something) from early 70, same case, plus day date. The guy was asking 2200. More money but also a safer bet long run.
This is better looking than the omega though, at least to me, and I love the colour choices for the dial.

I love the color choices and the dimensions except the thickness - 16mm might sit pretty high on the wrist.
The Damasko that uses the same movement is only 13.8mm.
The way the bracelet ties into the case is kind of funny too. I saw it on a NATO and it goes under the case rather than between the lugs.

I like the style, but the way the bracelet and the case meet is bothering me. I don’t know why. 🤷♂️

I like the style, but the way the bracelet and the case meet is bothering me. I don’t know why. 🤷♂️ It’s that funky 70s style. Some love it some hate it, but that particular case was all the rage back then. Among others, Omega tried to bring it back with the Z-33, and it we all know how that worked out. It’s certainly not for everyone, but those that like it, love it.

I like the style, but the way the bracelet and the case meet is bothering me. I don’t know why. 🤷♂️ It’s referred to as a barrel case. As Chip said, rally popular in the 70’s. Not sure why. It’s kind of funky but I like it. I’m really tempted to make this my first chrono ever.

Kind of like it. Nice, solid Valjoux movement. Kind of reminds me of the Omega Speemaster Mark II, with the case design having no lugs. Although I have no real deep regrets about any watched I have flipped, the Mark II is definitely one I think I could own again. And keep. I do think the Mark II looks better than this one as well. It came out in 2014, at just over 5 grand CAD. Now it is 7,000CAD. I think there are other watches I would rather have at that price.
