One more time, before it goes back.

Such a classic. Surprisingly, I’ve never seen one IRL.

Last day of work today. I suppose I am officially "retired". In my case, I think that means I will take a few months off, then go back to work. Wore my Eterna KonTiki Bronze on my last official day of work. Never in all my decades of flipping watches, have I ever had so many compliments on any one of them. Everyone seems to love this Eterna. Have a great weekend you guys! Carl

Time to get some sleep As much as I hate to admit it, that mesh on the BLNR really looks fantastic! I would have said just stick with the OEM bracelet, but this mesh does suit the watch so very well. Well Done!

Afternoon switch... Beautiful! Wonderful to see another Eterna KonTiki here. There is a similar model at the AD, with a pointer date, I have been looking at, but I think this black dial is better than the one I have seen.

Have a great weekend you guys! Carl I’m kind of jealous. Such a killer watch. Glad to see you still so enamored with it. And HUGE CONGRATS on the semi-retirement. Color me jealous on that as well. I’m glad you like the mesh. It’s a bit of a surprise o me as well. I’d seen a photo before that looked good but wasn’t sure how it’d play out IRL.

I suppose the retirement thing affects everyone in a different way. I kind of left work with tears in my eyes today. I had only been at this place working part time for a month, as my last job I left a month ago. Nevertheless, I was fortunate to have worked at both places with a wonderful group of people. The two shops have completely different cultures. Most of the guys at this last job are less than half my age, mostly in their early twenties. It was astounding to me how much I enjoyed working with them. Lots of young people get a bum rap, but I see them in a different light. When I realize the environment I grew up in being a child of the 50s and 60s, and compare that to today's young people, and see what they are capable of - not to mention the respect they have for a guy my age - I admire them a lot. That doesn't, of course, go for all of them. Neither does it go for many people of my vintage. Not being a very social person, the work environment is also a big part of my social life. At any rate, I am thankful to get the chance to have a good rest and decide what to do with the rest of my life. And be damn thankful I am in good enough health to be able to enjoy it! Cheers, Carl
