For the longest time, I have distanced myself from dive watches. Reasons which I won't go into. Since I got my Eterna KonTiki bronze diver - and since I have more time on my hands now - the dive watch thing has really started to interest me. Lately, I have noticed a number of Doxa models on the forums, and most are quite Limited Editions. I particularly like the orange dials, which they are most famous for. However, this yellow dial Poseidon Edition, Poseidon being a Swedish company well known for diving gear. Anyway, I would have to keep going back-and-forth to the excellent Hodinkee review to get more info, so I will just provide the link: www.hodinkee.com/articles/doxa-sub-300t-divingstar-poseidon-edition-introducing?mc_cid=95acf298fe&mc_eid=87e9458545It is big, around 43mm, but looks very comfy. I love the yellow dial, also the Beads of Rice bracelet, and that it has an ETA movement. The Poseidon logo on the dial is cool as well. If I had 2 grand USD it would be a watch I would seriously cosider. Pre-order starts tomorrow, for those who are interested. Cheers, Carl

It looks like pre-order at $1999 USD started today... shop.doxawatches.com/shop/sub300t-re-issue/per-invitation-doxa-sub300t-poseidon-edition-god-sea/?v=7516fd43adaaI've always wanted a Doxa and love this color combination. Problem is for me, I think there are ones I need to see in person to buy. I saw one at the GTG last weekend and it's one of the orange dial models that has the dial and case out of proportion (dial is too small for the case) but doesn't appear that way in photos. I've read that the proportions on this one are good, but I'm still a bit skeptical.

I am glad you pointed out the case/dial proportion, although perhaps it would not be too bad on this model. I think for the larger ones, though, where the WR is up there. I have to say, I almost hit the "Pre Order" button, but I am glad I backed off. Breitling still does that amazing Avenger Seawolf with the vivid yellow dial. I think that, one day, if I still crave a colored dial, it may be the better route for me to take. Besides, I think it's just too close to Basel 2018 to consider another new watch. Who knows what goodies will appear at that event!

“Baselworld 2018 Teaser: Introducing The Doxa SUB 300T Divingstar “Poseidon Edition”” via @watchvillehttps://api.watchville.co/v2/posts/33643/click
I love them in photos, but having seen just about all in real life, I just can’t fall in love with that case.
It’s vastly larger than the face/bezel and it just doesn’t look good to me in real life, which sucks because I really like the silver dial models. Until I see that case.
My advice would be to pass until you see one in real life.

It is going to show the dial/bezel closest, and it will proportionally larger than the base of the case, so you never really get to see how much the case is going to protrude. You just can't go by the photos. It actually is a relief to feel like this, as the last thing I need now is to get another watch that will get flipped .

I really want a Doxa but I can’t agree with all that case around the small(ish) dial.
