carl they are not. What might appear as lume in the photo is just a cut out in the hands. Truth is, it doesn’t do the best job at being a watch lol. Just like a PAM, it lacks minute markers, so you have to wait until a five minute marker to set the time if you want to be somewhat accurate. And, it doesn’t hack. Also, for 15 minutes, you have to guess what time it is! I’m okay with all that though, I believe additional markers on the dial would have cluttered the design.

I can see now looking at the photo again, it's obvious as the cutout shows the dial. I think it's perfect, some designs are just way better without lume. And I'm perfectly OK with no hacking or minute markers. Got quite used to it with the PAM. Some things often have to be sacrificed for design, and I'm good with that. My H. Moser is the same, although it does hack. But then, it's not 5.5mm thin either! I think they did everything right with the design of the Bulgari Octo.
