Way overpriced IMHO. For a not that much more you could get a mint titanium Octo, which is in a completely different league.
You could get a Pelagos mint for 3k and it’s a way better watch.
What are they thinking??

If you buy that for $6K, you'd be missing a lot of money. That's what you'd be missing. Way overpriced!

Only other watch I know about is the Omega LE with Tantalum, Titanium and Sedna Gold. The Tantalum is a bluish grey hue, which I personally don’t care for. I suppose it’s appropriate for a dive watch. Almost 8 grand in cad$. I would far rather have titanium. Anyway, I suppose there is a market.
This is one is $16,000cad

I just finished watching season two of Jack Ryan, and most of the season revolves around Tantalum. They were referring to it as Blue Gold.

priamo While I’m no Hublot fan, and if I had to pick one, I’d take that over the Helson any day. Also, it’s already depreciated, so less risk. Guaranteed to be better made as well.

That's good advice Chip for watches this expensive... That Hublot has curb appeal. I've never heard of tantalum so I've learned something new. Not for me but the blue hue is nice. As a quick aside, my accessible Formex Element case in ss and titanium has characteristics of the Hublot. And I'd say the IWC Ingenieur case. W/O the tantalum.

I see this searching online for $54.95. Don't know how reputable...An ingot you could look at the tantalum for the curious. Doesn't seem to be anywhere near the price of gold. EDIT: 40 bucks an oz on Amazon if you must

Doesn't seem to be anywhere near the price of gold. priamo what I’m about to say could all be a bunch of bull, as I’ve heard it all during the second season of Tom Clancy’s Jack Ryan, on amazon prime. Highly recommended by the way. Apparently tantalum is not very plentiful, with china being one of the main producers. While it doesn’t have curb appeal so to speak, it’s supposedly used in about 99 percent of all electronics out there and it’s considered technology critical. Of course, I could’ve have researched it and speak with some confidence, but learning it from a TV show is just cooler. And less intelligent lol
