Wow! What a beautiful and tranquil place for a well-deserved vacation. I have read about a few of the wildlife rescue and preservation organizations lately. Thanks for posting these amazing pics!

Would love to hear which hotel/resort you are staying at and closest town? Cheers, Carl We’re at the W Costa Rica near Playa Conchal and Tamarendo. It’s a new and really nice hotel but we didn’t realize it’s isolated and we can’t walk anywhere. www.marriott.com/hotels/travel/lirwh-w-costa-rica-reserva-conchal/We were able to fly direct to Liberia from Denver and then drive about 1 hr and 15 minutes to the hotel. GPS works here but they don’t use Street address numbers so it’s a bit of a crap shoot. The gps put us on a public beach an the way here! Rental cars are also ridiculous. They double the price with mandatory liability insurance and try to double it again with collision damage waiver, but my AMEX covers that.

That would not be the place for me, with no driver licence! Even with a licence, it would be nice to be able to walk to some attractions.

The parks are plentiful but the ones e we plan to see are spread out from an hour to 4 hours from the hotel, BUT there are shuttle services to/from the airport and parks but they are spend’s too. This trip is in the SS Rolex sports model pricing but it’s a bucket list trip for sure.

Had one of the best meals of my life tonight at a Costa Rican-Thai fusion place here at the W hotel called Latitud 10 Norte. Salmon with pickled melon, zucchini, pea purée, and almond cheese. Tuna tartar on a wonton with avocado crema. Smoked duck with sweet potato gnocchi and plantains A flan/panna cotta type dish with a white chocolate crisp underneath, a banana / chia seed crisp on top with a sugar cane based topping. We’ll be going back here again before we leave. Yum!
