I really do love Pilot type watches. Recently, I noticed this Steinhart model, posted by a member on a WRUW thread. I was quite intrigued, because I love the idea of a BIG Pilot watch, especially with a manually wound movement. This one is 47mm with a Unitas movement. Recently, I accompanied a friend to the local IWC Boutique to look at a model he liked. While in there, I took another look at the IWC Big Pilot, which I have seen many times. While I realize IWC makes fine watches, and I realize their 7 Day Automatic movement is an achievement, I have never been able to accept that this watch is worth $16,200CAD. Besides that, I would rather have a manually wound movement. What really impressed me as well, was the guy who posted it. He mentioned that it was arguably a bit large for his smaller wrist, but he really wanted a Unitas movement. And he obviously didn't care whether or not anyone thought it's too big or not. While I'm not considering purchasing this model, I think at $540USD it is a great value. Cheers, Carl

I’d agree carl. It’s a clean dial and the hands are proportional too - sometimes they don’t get scaled up on larger watches. I love the blue outlines too. Very nicely executed.
