A friend on Facebook has bought this, he's asked me to ask what we think on here. I'm not up to speed with vintage pieces. He paid £240 for it, its had a service & some new parts etc.

The Geneve was Omega's more economical offering, but still a very solid watch. That one is a very nice example of a late 50's to early 60's manual wind model. It may have been replated, as I don't notice ANY wear through. It appears to be in excellent condition. I would like to have seen a pic of the case back. Since it was recently serviced, your friend did well, price wise. If he plans on wearing it, he might find it on the small side. As with vintage Rolexes, they are only 34mm in diameter.

I like it and as the Kat says, it's a bit smaller than what he may be used to. And it doesn't have any of those pesky batteries to change!

All in all, a very nice pick up. I wanted to see the case back to confirm that it was stainless steel, as I thought, and therefore definitely gold plated. I also have a Geneve; an auto from 1969: KAT

Owning a vintage watch is great, understanding its place in Horology is MAGNIFICENT!

KAT I agree Was it worth £240 - yes about that. Possible to get an automatic for that. I have two in the shop for £250. Regards
