Someone wants my SD and he's willing to trade his almost new Pam 112 and most likely, 1000.00 on top of the trade. I've always been a Panerai lover and I love the clean look of the 112 . But being a mechanical watch, it makes me a bit paranoid thinking it would one day break because of the constant windings . Any thoughts? I've had watches cherished ( Omegas and Rolexes ) but all flipped over and the SD seems to be the only one always left standing...Could this be the day the music dies for the SD ? Hard decision for me to decide.

I wouldn't do it. Apples and oranges. Keep the SD!! It's in a different class.

I've read on another forum that the market is starting to soften for PAMs. I don't have any evidence, but the thread basically said they've done so many LE's and have so many variations that while they are "limited production" they still have a lot of product out there.

I have a PAM and I love it. Buy a used 112 and keep the SD.
You can pick one up for around 3k if you keep your eyes open. Without boxes or papers

Yeah I must say that I agree with the ones before me. Keep the SD and save up for the Pam. The SD is not going down in price anytime soon, if ever.
I too noticed lower prices on Panerai watches.

I guess the SD is here to stay! Although it's quite tempting thinking the extra cash makes it up to for the aerospace funds. Dang! Thanks, fellas.

The 2 for 1 sounds good to me. The only problem with letting your SD go is the way Rolex are going up in price. It's just making decisions like this harder. This just isn't new models either, the 2nd hand & vintage prices are going up way to fast as well. So unless you can live without owning a Rolex for now & maybe a good while I'd say keep yours.

No worries, I just wish there'd been someone with brains to steer me in the right direction when I first started flipping watches. Had this been the case I'd still have my first 5513-that was perfect-and I wouldn't have come full circle after 4 years.

Marcus is right. My EXP II now sells for twice what I paid for it in 2006 and my LV is worth at least 2 grand more now than what I paid in 2011.

Yep, my SD will probably go for 40% more than what I paid for it in 2007.
