Looks cool Steve! Why not hang on to it for a while?

Looks cool Steve! Why not hang on to it for a while? Not sure if I will or not, the jury's still out. I like the look but I'd like the money it would bring to see if I can upgrade from my current 5513; although I like my Sub I'm still after the all elusive 5512 as my grail and I'm thinking this just might give me enough to get it.

I love it. If I were you, I'd keep it so you can have 2 nice vintage pieces for different occasions, especially since one is a birth year watch. It's not like they are going down in value. Plus I don't think I could ever be a one watch guy - I like variety too much.
Then, there's also the stress of looking for a 5512 that meets or exceeds your desires and is actually represented correctly by the seller. I remember all the headaches you went through just to find the 5513 you have now.

I've put some feelers out already but I don't think anyone wants to pay what I want so ill probably keep it, if I keep it the bracelet is going out for repair for sure so I'll know it's safe to wear, hell, it's a $1.5k bracelet so it's a good investment to get it repaired and it's original to this watch as well. Stop talking me out of it Roger!

Looks great.
The bracelet is a Win for sure.
Split them and sell them off.
Don't spend the money to refurb. It will be 300+ dollars as that bracelet has zsprings.

Why not try and get the last generation of Gilt 5513?

Steve, I'm so glad to see you finally got to put this piece on your wrist! Congratulations on an excellent purchase Choices, choices, choices Let me point out this is an EXCELLENT "problem" to have that will be a lot of fun to figure out. Again, either you keep this piece and the value continues to go up in time OR you find the right buyer for it, find that 5512 you desire and somehow manage to get your end all watch. Like Roger says though I'm all for variety in the sense it is nice to have your favourite watch and a backup for it that you REALLY like so when service time comes or after a few years of use you can give one a rest or rotate regularly. Again, the ball is in your court now!

No need to be sorry! It seems you quickly realized what you needed to do! After looking at the 2003 Y Serial 16610 LV anniversary piece it made me see this the way you do. If that is the watch you want, then the 5512 is the only one that will satisfy you and nothing else can fill it's place! Now the hunt begins!
