Sent from my LG-E980 using proboards I've got pictures of the watch, but I'm a bit reluctant to show it because it's not pretty, scratched, original matching dial and hands with a beautiful patina, everything, twinlock crown and original-almost opaque with all the scratches superdome which is cool, but no bezel, but it's untouched and appears unpolished, well, at least it hasn't been in collection after collection. Actually I got it from a guy who sells low end watches who got it at an estate sale. Really didn't know what he had, took it to a jeweler who opened the watch up and told him it wasn't a fake -he thought it was a fake Rolex, as I said he didn't know much about watches. The son of the original owner-who he had bought the watch from said his father had it sitting in a box on his dresser for 10+ years and he didn't wear it because he had lost the bezel years ago. It has an ugly old stainless band on it and it looks like hell. one of those pieces collectors love, something that hasn't been screwed with. Once I get it put together I will post before and after pictures. It's a chapter ring (non gilt) third quarter 64 caseback. |

As I said its going to be real hard letting this watch go, I'm starting to fall in love and it hasn't even arrived yet. |

That sounds like a neat story behind it! Yet another thing I love about fixed bezel watches like the Explorer II, Daytona etc etc. This is fairly un common but can happen under the right circumstances. Now the pearl on the other hand, it's almost expected for that to go missing eventually. My friend Dante's 16613 Submariner's pearl fell out a while back now he just wears it like that.

Hey, we're all watch people. Post the damn pictures! Can you guys wait for the watch to arrive? I would love to do a full series of before and after pictures. What I'm trying to avoid–I know some of you can appreciate this–is not to post the sellers crummy pictures–I want to sell this watch–and then have someone not want it. The sellers' pictures are lousy and make the watch look worse than it actually is. If you guys wait a bit I'll get the watch and do some work on it and post the final before and after shots and show the comparison, I think you'll be much happier with the result. For the meantime just think pretty thoughts.  hahaha |
