Imagine that, eh!? It's incredible how the ones no one wanted back then somehow became highly sought after and in some cases, even blue chip investments long term. The fact this market can be so unpredictable for collectors can work in our favor as well it seems. Nothing tops the joy of ownership though, as that's our #1 reason for obtaining these pieces.

If we only knew then what we know now... We'd be rich! I recall a true story of a couple of dealers in the early 1980's swapping out the dials, bezels and hands in MilSubs and replacing them with the standard fare in order to more easily sell them. They must be kicking themselves now. DRSD's were another hard sell in the 70's. Not popular by any means compared with the subs and GMT's.

Had a chance to pick up a 1680, IIRC it was a Red Sub, in 1991. I thought $1200.00 was too steep. Groan...
