When I retired from Saudi we went via Bahrain. In the Bahrain Airport Duty Free area I had some Saudi money I needed to dispose of so I had a look at the Seiko watches. This one took my fancy so I parted with my hard earned cash. It's a Seiko military design, Model #:SNZG11K1 with the non hacking 7S36 movement, I think they came out in 2009. Now I have an admission to make, I almost sent the watch to Seiko because I thought it was faulty. I'd read the instruction booklet which said to start the watch, swing it from side to side. Alternately, turn the crown until it starts. Well I thought I'd wind mine up using the crown but it kept stopping. After a bit of research, I discovered you can't wind the watch with the crown and must swing it until fully wound. It eventually went back to Seiko under guarantee as it used to stop when the date changed. They fitted a new movement free of charge and it now runs sweetly.

Looks great!! Seiko makes a great watch for the money. I've got a few and have my eye on a couple more that I'm interested in.

I've enjoyed a few of these. They're great beaters.
