Ran across this while goofing off on the web. Platinum Rolex, ref #6604. I've never seen a bracelet like this either, could this be original?

Judging by the way the bracelet connects to the watch, it looks like a custom bracelet, and perhaps a custom dial, as well. Also, it looks like the crown and bezel might be stainless steel.....

Skeptical at the very least. No date magnifier on a datejust? If it's a replacement crystal, why would list such a rare significant piece with an incorrect part? No markings on the underside of the case? No pictures of the clasp? I don't know dude. I'm certainly no vintage expert, but it don't smell right.

I know nothing about vintage pieces so I can't say. Since it has a frame around the date window, I figured it was built without a cyclops.

Never saw this one before either and between us (all the members here) we have quite a bit of time invested in looking up watches online. Can't wait to get some more info on this watch to see what the situation is.

As for my 2cents, I never heard, seen or read anywhere that the DJ was produced in platinum.
Being a 50's model, bracelets were made from different sources for Rolex and had a few odd ones, but haven't seen this style. The Grain or bead style was in favor in this era.
I would call it rather questionable.

Hmmm, it makes me wonder. Regardless to if it's original or not it seems (seems is the key word for now) like a decent piece of craftsmanship. No sign of folded over links at all, if anyone has any clue as to how this may have been done exactly I would love to know a bit more.

Original or not, I dig it. I'd tend to say it's not. I'd also be suspect because of the Pt and bracelet.

Man oh man, there's something about the old school "top hat" type crystals that stick up a lot. I'm so glad Rolex has crystals on the modern watches that pop up a tiny bit to pay homage to this classic design.

Must say whatever it is I'm loving the non cyclops look, more like this Rolex :-) would be interesting to find out the history of it though.

I don't know anything about it, but I think the dial and hands may be original, and it may well be possible that the bracelet is, too. I like it anyway.

I have no idea, I have never seen on whilst on my vintage quests, but it looks nice. I definitely would pass if I was offers this one simply because I really am uncertain. I have seen many prototype Rolex and there are many out there The Passion guys or some knowledgeable guys on VRF, Jacek comes to mind, he would know.
