Pleased to say the Sputnik arrived today and what a corker of a watch it is! Of course, being cold war Soviet it went straight on to one of Dave's wonderful British Army NATO's and that strap was made for this watch I feel! Its in wonderful condition considering its age (57 years old) and the sub dial is mesmerizing! Below are some still pictures and also a video of this watch in action! Of course, being a child from that era there was only one choice of music to use to accompany it!

That's really neat. I seriously considered sending you some money and trust you to get me some cool vintage pieces that won't break the bank.

Cheers Chip, its amazing what is out there you know. I am keeping my eye out at the moment for a French LIP watch, such cools styling on a lot of them. The right one at the right price will appear, they always do!
I missed a great one yesterday as I had to go on set so no internet and I like to bid in the last minute so as not to push the price up. A beautiful 1948 Tissot, crown, movement and case all signed in full working order with lovely patina to the military dial, it went for $65!

That's probably why I like it lol. Seems to be what the aquatimer copied.
The 24 hours dial is kinda cool too but it would take me ages to figure out what time it is

Can't wait to see more pictures once it arrives! It's amazing how you managed to find these watches, it looks great on your wrist too! The best part about your collection is it has something totally different offered by each watch.

That made my night! Love the video with the space age music - fit the attitude of the watch perfectly. I absolutely love the funky sub seconds dial. Fantastic find Ian.

Thanks Roger. The music is Telstar by the Tornado's, could not think of anything better! I must improve my editing though as it ended abruptly.
Its really funky to see this operate in real life as well!
