Okay, a little help here. I've been looking for a birthyear watch for a while now, especially with all this talk flying around. Omega, Longines, Bulova, etc. Not real enthused about what I've been seeing recently but hey, half the fun is the hunt. Anyway, I decided to have a look at my dad's watch, one that my mother gave him as a wedding gift. I don't wear it and I really never saw him wear it either, so it lives in the safe. Took it out and there really weren't any unusual markings, a Wittnauer Revue with a neat 4 sided raised with a recessed seconds hand. Popped the back off and found it to be a 17 jewel movement with a 14K case. Saw where I had it serviced in '81 when it was given to me and has slept since then. I'm guessing it was from 1950 but I am trying to date it. Serial number was in the 5 millions, 5XXXXXX. Any help with this would be greatly appreciated. I'll probably take it for a service, a quality strap and buckle and maybe start wearing it soon.

Wow, that's it! After seeing those pics, I was able to pick out the 14K mark on the cap. The one pictured has a newer serial number. Disappointed at the price with box, I was hoping for $100K! .
