If it was a known swiss brand, would you pay that? That would be my main struggle. Similar to if you had a hundred grand, would you buy a Porsche 911 or a Nissan GTR? Tough choice. Sent from my iPhone 5s using Tapatalk Pro Gtr 2015

Its funny perception eh. There are so many made up Swiss and German makes out there now that have been around for 20 years or less that purchased the rights to an old extinct watch companies name that nobody would give second thought to spending multiple thousands on but then would not be prepared to spend an equal amount on a watch from Japan with a rich heritage of horological excellence and innovation such as Seiko!

Would you pay 7k for one? Sent from my iPhone 5s using Tapatalk Pro Probably not, I'm ok with buying certain watches preowned and this would be one of those.

To me, it's about a combination of quality and resale - assuming of course the styling and function of the watch is already meets my desires. My first priority is quality (60-80% of the decision) and resale is secondary, but factors into what I'm willing to pay up front. If the resale takes a hit, then the purchase price discount has to reflect that. I'm not willing to take a 40% hit on resale without a 25-30% discount off MSRP on purchase.

I agree with that 100 percent and it's how my thought process works as well. While i don't buy to sell, I have to be able to sell if needed. That has a big effect on what I'm willing to pay.

I'm thinking an AD would probably go down to 5500? 3.5 to 4 for preowned? Sent from my iPhone 5s using Tapatalk Pro 3.5 is as high as I'd go too. It's a beautiful watch and I love the idea of being inconspicuous wearing it, but I'm not sure I could ever pay close to full retail for one. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk

Dave, I know someone here in Vancouver with that exact model. It is exceptional and even better looking in real life. The dial has so much life and energy to it. You just keep gazing at it when its on your wrist!
