I've decided, I'm going for the LV. Now for the 2nd bezel. It's a beauty, I think I'm going to like it. BTW, it's under 5! Dude-that's a steal even if it needed a service.

Last service was 2011 Roger, not too shabby. Bought from AD and includes box and papers. I thought is sounded good, checked the sellers refs and he's good. Like I said I wanted one for some time and funny thing this was for sale for quite awhile with no buyers, must be the economy, either that or prices are flat.

That's a heck of a deal for a full set!!! Don't think about it anymore. Just do it.

Good choice, Steve! Can't wait to see it on your wrist. Thanks Kat, how have you been doing? It's great to see you here, I was away for some time getting things worked out but now I'm back for a long spell. My kid's off to university the 22nd and I'm gonna have to have you guys to cry to, it's gonna be so difficult for me. For the past 18 years she has been with us and now she'll be away and I'm clueless how things are going to be. I need to vent from time to time and have a place to discuss watches.

Well, I see you've already made a decision, but I would have bucked the trend and said stay in your vintage hell! You haven't owned this LV 16610 since it came out for a reason. How many Rolex watches have you owned? And you never bought one of these. I'm not judging it - or you - at all, I hasten to add. But, it's obvious to me, and probably others, as well as yourself, that your heart lies firmly and deeply with imperfect, annoying, compromised, quirky vintage. So, for me, it's a 'no-brainer' as far as you are concerned, just as it would be for me.
Having said that, congrats on the latest acquisition, and I hope you enjoy it at least for a while, but please don't exclaim that it's a 'keeper'. Coz it ain't! No offense, but we have to look at it from a historical point of view. I wonder what your next vintage piece will be! Cheers mate, K.

At least owning the LV for a bit will get it out of your system - you'll be able to cross it off the list and move on! So, that's as good a reason as any to get one.

At that price he can flip it for a profit too if he tires of it.

At that price he can flip it for a profit too if he tires of it. Exactly, but I may surprise you, a lot has happened in my life Karl and I've made drastic changes for the better, I found something in myself where I no longer need to be so judgmental with material things nor in people. That said I still recognize a deal when I see one.

Congrats on getting an LV under 5k. Thats amazing! In my opinion, you made the right choice. But I'm also biased, I have a respect for vintage pieces but have absolutely zero desire in owning one.
