They deserve to maintain their value and I am 100 percent certain that the main reason most people don't buy them is the name on the dial.
I won't lie, it's 90 percent of the reason why I don't have one.
From a quality perspective, workmanship, heritage etc I truly believe there is absolutely no watch at that price point that can match it.

I completely agree with you Chip, at the price point they are there is nothing that comes close in terms of fit and finish. I have often said I think you would have to get into the AP or Patek end of things to get similar levels of fit and finish combined with the heritage.
I do think though that the tide is about to turn for Grand Seiko for two very big reasons. Firstly their official entry into the US market and secondly, Hodinkee. I really mean it with Hodinkee as well. That website is proving to be a very powerful force in the horological world and they love Grand Seiko a great deal. Heck they even have eulogized about the Quartz limited edition and defended it on price and horological worth.
When you spend thousands on a watch you want to be able to send it to a service center in your own country and want that back up of having the local country deal with the model now that is the case in the US and that is going to make a heck of a difference. Just look at the impact Lexus have had in the past twenty years!

Man I feel like I'm in trouble, I have a big itch and it doesn't seem to go away.

That's an awesome watch, but I think it will look much better in a leather strap, that's just me.

Yeah I'd absolutely order a genuine GS deoloyant or tang buckle and stick it on a black alligator.
I bet a blue would look good too if one was feeling adventurous.

Art, that one has always caught my eye and the way the dial shimmers in the light is beautiful. When you think of what there is new out there at the same price it makes this one look a fantastic deal I feel. And Seiya is cheaper by $30 than the cheapest I have found on eBay, great reputation as well.

I just don't know if I should do it since Christmas is only two months away

He has a fantastic reputation along with Higuchi over at WUS, many many deals and all done really well. Perhaps an early Christmas present to yourself Art!
