That dial is almost ethereal Chip, gorgeous!

The 24 hours on the chapter ring has the numbers between 3&9 inverted and bugs me in the photos, but I can see how that could make it more readable IRL. ianmedium - agreed, the textured dial is beautiful.

Doesn't Rolex to something similar with some of their dials? I did not even noticed until you pointed it out, but I am certain I have seen that arrangement quite a few times before. I just cannot remember where! This is the same case as the model Dan has in stock now with a tiny scratch on it and offered it to me at a killer price. Still thinking about that one.

I know on some of the DJ's in gold with leather straps they do some patterns but nothing as subtle or as beautiful as this, Ah, just realized, you were on about what Roger was talking about.
I really like that one you showed on the leather strap as well. Having seen it in real life that creamy dial has a depth on it that is remarkable

Correct, I was talking about the inverted numbers.

I think this would look stunning on strap. It doesn't show in photos, but the off white dial is extremely complex.

I must not look at this thread anymore! Keep on looking, it's worth looking at lol. The MSRP on OEM strap and deployant is 4600. With a bit of "WWF friend and family" discount, under 4k. That's NOT BAD for 100% in house with a proper independently adjustable hour hand and a hand made watch, with the most amazing off white dial I have ever seen in my life.

Chip, that's the one I was on about! Mind, that one as you say really needs to be on a nice leather strap, the bracelet does not suit it I feel. That creamy dial as I said earlier has so much depth, it feels like your diving into a vat of double cream. When you think about what one gets with these Grand Seiko's I maintain they are somewhat a horological bargain!

Oh, and my personal choice of strap for that is a large grain deep chocolate brown croco with brow stitching

It's an absolute BEAUTY. I had a hard time putting that one back in Dan's hands! I actually invited him to post his Seiko reviews on our forum as well, not just on WUS.

Oh that would be great if he did that Chip! I just love how the blued GMT hand looks against the cream of the dial! The other thing is that it has drilled lugs which make changing straps a breeze. You could change the look of this one completely by changing strap styles and colours.
For instance it would look fantastic on a tan Hermes style grained strap and also a deep blue croco.
