Holy Cow, fantastic! Did a bit of reading about the watchmaker and I can't even fathom having that much skill, talent and patience.
What do you think the Simplicity sells for?

Well, you can't actually buy one since all 200 that he is making are long spoken for. When we were there this summer he had 70 of the 200 left to go! When they were still available the price was $75K US.

WOW!!! What a beautiful watch. Amazing thing, isn't it, when the new owner sorta busts on Patek Phillippe, Breguet and Audemars Piguet in regard to finishing and quality? Someday......sigh. -Ben I can tell you that seeing those brands (as fantastic as they are) and then seeing a Dufour in person....there's no comparison IMO. BTW Dufour does wear a watch that isn't one of his own....and it's not Swiss! You can see a bit of it here as he is signing books at the dinner we had with him and the other independent watchmakers.... It's a rose gold Lange Datograph.

Great post I liked this line 'Look at those wonderful movements... (manufactured when the watch industry was not yet 99% marketing and 1% craftmanship)' ain't that the truth, its all about marketing these days Gorgeous watch and what an honour to collect it from the man himself very cool, thanks for posting this!

Gorgeous watch and what an honour to collect it from the man himself very cool, thanks for posting this! I agree... what an amazing experience to pick up such a finely crafted instrument from the very artisan who lovingly designed and built it, part by part. Dufour certainly seems like a nice guy, as well as an artist.

I think it's really important and exciting that artists like this exist
