I hate to be an 'enabler' but I reckon this gorgeous watch would look ace on a kind of olive/khaki fabric strap, like cotton canvass. Kind of an army vibe, the colour would look so warm with the dial and stunning gilt hands. Just a thought - maybe something like this? : View Attachment View AttachmentI've always loved those and it's crossed my mind several times already. I'd want a 26-22 though because I just don't think I can get used to the giant buckle you get on a taper free strap.

I'm on my third strap today. Maybe this strap thing is addictive after all. Told ya! Let's see it, then! Edit; cross-posting. Looks good bro. Thanks vincent65A former member sent me the brown Gabomagic and this black one, which he made and it's new. A nice gift, now I just have to decide if I can do the no taper. The thickness at the buckle is almost 14mm!! This is completely alien to me, I always wanted a strap that's thin on that side of the wrist.

I think it's 26mm at the lugs, and then there's the 'over-hang' to match the case-taper.

Great watch, and I agree with you. When I got interested in artisan straps that was one of things I didn't care for about the simple fold-over construction of the ones I bought. I started making my own, and after ~100 or so came to a design that IMO solved the problems of bulk at the wrist, keepers that often come loose, and abrasion of strap resulting from contact at the case.

Clever design!
The OEM 26-22 is still the best fit for me, plus the factory strap is a bit thinner at the buckle, which also helps.
I bet I could do a 26-24 without much trouble.

Thanks, there's more going on with these than can be seen in the pictures.

Nice! Good to see you again Scott. I've been looking at the 372 for a few months now and it's high on my list. Anything you "don't" like about it? The jump hour hand makes is a reasonable option in lieu of a GMT, although I'm still waiting to see a BLNR in real life. The other on my short list is the new Grey Side of the Moon. I think my next watch will come be one of these three.

I wear my 372 on 2pc nylon (had to make my own) and love it. Took ~6mo to start to get a nice worn-in look Nice! Good to see you again Scott. Yes, there is one thing that was sort of disappointing about the 372: after I got it I honestly did not look at other watches for almost a year, and it's rarely left my wrist since new....I call it "the antidote"
Other than that, I've got to say that there's not a thing about it I do not like or would change.

timesofplenty I'll have to agree The 422 is my first Panerai and it really hasn't left my wrist in almost three months. I almost have to force myself to wear something else.

Scott, that nylon strap looks just so "right" on that watch! The aging makes all the difference!
