Searching the innerwebs I found this dude in Toronto @ www.yelp.ca/biz/y-phung-watch-repair-toronto who's familiar with the watch and can rebuild the bracelet as long as I have all the parts.
My daughter's coming up here over Christmas and I'll get her to drop it off when she returns home.

Y Phung Watch Repair - Toronto, ON, Canada
If you've got a watch - a REAL watch - at some point it's going to need repair; in Toronto - this is the place to take it. If you just need a battery replaced in a "designer" watch he can certainly do that as well - unlike the denizens of the malls and retail jewelers, he can actually repair complex winders and autowinders. Vintage, Modern, obscure - he has not failed me yet. Not so much a shop as a cubby hole, your fine mechanical timepiece will be evaluated and you will receive a prompt, reasonable estimate for repair. You know that broken watch given to you by your father/grandfather/celebrity impersonator that's been sitting in your drawer? The one deemed "un-fixable" by your local jeweler? He can fix that too.
This man is a genuine watchmaker and there aren't that many left.

I went here early August to get the crystal and battery of my dads watch replaced. He charged me $45 all together. I gave him the watch and went to take out money and get some coffee and when I was back he was already done. Very nice man too. I'm definitely going to come back here if I need another watch repaired. He gave me a business card with his new address, he has moved though to 3089 Bathurst Street unit [HASH]211 m6a 2a4 phone number 416-486-1796
I found out about this repair shop through Google. It's a very small shop on the second floor of an old building. The owner is very honest and knowledgeable. I went to him to replace a dead battery and it cost $10. A lot of the jewelry stores at Yonge-Eglinton Centre were charging $15.
