Ian's kindness and generosity changed that! Had a GTG with Ian today. He mentioned that he had a gift for me. But I was not at all prepared for this: This is a 1916 Omega pocket watch which, although the movement says "Regina", it is an actual Omega movement as well. For further exlanation, I will direct you to the original thread that Ian did on this beautiful piece, when he acquired it at the beginning of this year. This explains it much better than I ever could: wristwatchforums.proboards.com/thread/10946/omega-pocket-watchAbsolutely thrilled by this piece and blown away by Ian's generosity. This will be cherished by me. I took it into the Omega Boutique today, to show my friends there, and they were delighted as well. Eventually, on their advice and my own instincts, I will get them to send it to Bienne for a full service. Then if it needs any new parts, it will be sure to have the best care and attention. However, it runs beautifully now and sounds just wonderful. I have it on my desk, and I can hear it ticking strongly, a very comforting sound indeed. Thank you so much Ian. This truly means a lot to me. I have often toyed with the idea of getting a pocket watch, but this special gift just makes the idea absolutely perfect! Of course, I will take more pics as time goes by. The one I took does the watch no justice, and I tried to capture the beautiful blued hands. This has truly made my New Year one of the very best ever! This is the ultimate addition to my small Omega collection. Cheers, Carl

Well Carl, it's gone to the best home possible and I am so glad you like it. I love the Timex and am so grateful to you for that. I love that it will head back home for a service at some point. Perhaps you should go on the trip with it and see them at work. I bet our mutual friend there would love that.

The oddest thing, is that what I like most about the watch, is the ticking sound! Just find it so reassuring and relaxing. I think this will go on the small tabel beside my bed tonight. And it's almost 100 years old, and it's off by less than 5 secs.!!!

After a recent service, it was timed at 6 seconds. On a full wind, it was holding its own against the SD, the next day.

Can't believe I missed this one! I LOVE seeing topics like this! Congratulations, Carl! Can't think of a better person to own this Omega pocket watch. It fits perfectly into your collection considering your passion for this brand. That was so kind of you, Ian!
