Reading KZ1000's post triggered a memory of some items I had put away. My parents gave my sister and I these watches and a season pass to Expo 86 in Vancouver for Christmas 85 . I did a little research this morning and there is some debate as to whether they're actually Swatches. I seem seem to recall the package having the Swatch name on them. No matter I'm not going to sell it. I'm worried that the battery has been in there a long time. How does the back come off? Just a slim blade and pry? Mark

Some great memories associated with that watch. In your shoes I too would take it somewhere and have them change the battery and seals etc.

I also went to Expo 86 and obtained this watch! I've seen advertisements with the picture of the watch listing Swatch as the maker. Value doesn't seem to be worth too much though. Cool keepsake though! Mine has had the back off for years and years. Surprised I still have all the parts (I think). To answer your question. No threads, just pops off. It has a hard plastic gasket.

Thanks, Mark

Thanks, Mark I looked mine over very carefully, definitely is not a screw back. I also don't see any indentation or any specific place to pry it. It's been off so many years, I can't tell you how it got off. Looks like its sealed with a hard plastic gasket.
