What a beauty. I'm not sure if I personally could get over the Quartz movement. If it was an Auto, it'd be perfect for me. Anyway.. Congrats. You've been on a roll lately. They do make an automatic version.

They do make an automatic version. That's bad news form my bank account. Lol. This is one of the nicest watches out there. Is the automatic identical to Carls? There are a lot to GS out there that are "off" for some reason or another, but this one's perfect. The funny thing is that it's the ticking seconds hand that I don't like, but I was just reading about a mechanical watch with a deadbeat seconds hand and I thought it was the coolest thing.

Take a look at Dan's shop, www.timelessluxwatches.comHe actually has a pre owned hi beat auto for sale that's just drop dead gorgeous. There are only three dealers in U.S., with one being the boutique in NY.

Hi Pete, The SBGR51 and 053 Mechanical models are the automatics that are 37mm cases also. The main difference that I can see is that they have the more elaborate 5 link bracelet, instead of the simpler 3 link like on the quartz models. And the exhibition caseback. It's not the Hi-beat or Spring Drive, but a wonderful movement. If I was to get a black dial model, I think I would go for the mechanical. Here's the link to the webpage on Timeless Luxury's website: www.timelessluxwatches.com/brands/grand-seiko/mechanical/sbgr051I personally love the 37mm size, but they have many beautiful models a bit bigger as well. I know you're not into quartz, but take a look at their quartz diver! Wow. As simple diver with no date. Can't stop looking at these watches now. Cheers, Carl

I guess with the much smaller population up here, we are lucky to have even one! I was probably very lucky to even find the model I was looking for, as they only get in about a dozen at a time. I got a nice, quick response back from Dan at timelsslux as well. They do ship to Canada, and there is no tax when they export or ship out-of-state. If it wasn't for the 25% exchange rate and taxes and Customs Duty, I would love to order from him. Mind you, I doubt this will be my last GS. Cheers, Carl

This one is pretty cool too: www.timelessluxwatches.com/brands/grand-seiko/mechanical/sbgr055

There's one about 30 minutes away from me in NJ, but they're closed on my day off.

Dang.... I thought there were just 3! It's been about a year since I last looked, and at the time it was timeless, AZ fine time and the boutique.
They are busy adding ADs seems like. Good for them.

Email him about that hi beat. Their pre owned section is not always up to date. I just looked at your picture again. What a nice watch. The best thing about it about it is that you could fly under the radar while wearing an awesome watch. Edit: Just saw the MSRP.. $6300.00 is a hard pill to swallow.

I believe he was asking about half of that for it.

I believe he was asking about half of that for it. That seems like a great deal. Just saw this one-- a quartz, but their top of the line 9F82. It's also an LE of 900. Comes on a strap, but Seiko included their 5 link bracelet too. Comes in a white dial too. www.grand-seiko.com/collection/9f-quartz/SBGV011.htmlI NEED to check these out irl.
