Hey guys. I have noticed that I tend to buy in spirts. The good news is that I am starting to regain interest in this crazy hobby after feeling out of sorts, since Spring time. I am replacing one that got away. I flipped it about 6 mos. ago, or so. I shouldn't have, and I decided to replace it, with the exact same one. It is winging its way, from Japan, as we speak. I think the biggest clue I can give you is that it is a very pretty watch, and that the supplied band is an absolute piece of crap, not nearly worthy of the watch, so I preemptively took care of that, too, as I did last time.....

No, I still have my orange Monster. It has gold hands and indices and a sapphire crystal. Not a diver

Yup! I flipped my green dial Alpinist last Spring, and I miss it. So one is on its way from Seiya, along with the OEM bracelet and a deployant clasp. The leather band from Seiko is atrocious, so I ordered a gen dark brown croc strap to switch it up. I will keep the supplied leather, in case I get another bout of flipper's disease.... ? I think I paid less for it this time, than I did 3 years ago, or so, because of the devalued yen to dollar. I shall think of my husband when I wear it. Green was his favorite color.

So I'm assuming the PP Ian awarded in his thread will now be winging its way back to Canada? Lol :-)
Please let us know how this transaction goes down, I was close to pulling the trigger on one of these before Xmas but decided to wait till the New Year now of course the dollars in the &@$. I think I've read every post regarding the Alpinist on WUS. I'll get one of these before they're gone. I'm slowing building a collection of Seiko watches. After viewing Carl's incredible watch (and photos) I believe a GS will be added when this years tax refund arrives.

Congrats Kat. That's a beauty. It really is a great piece. It is the nicest Seiko I have ever handled, and deserves to be back in the fold. It should be here Monday or Tuesday. Look for pics next week.

Hi Kat, Congrats, that is a sweet looking watch. If you get a moment could you post a picture of the Alpinist and your Speedy or Seiko diver together? I just want to get an idea of the size. I think I'll pull the trigger this weekend. I have some spare watch money..
Thanks, Mark
