I have a couple HR straps in gold and dark brown to try out. The other night I went through all 20+ Alpinist thread pages on WUS looking at all the variations of straps people have added. One thing has me confused though, I have been to some strap maker sites and they won't ship to certain countries due to bans on importing exotic animal skins. Not sure where to find out what is exempt for shipping into Canada.

If you want a gen croc, buy one from a Canadian vendor.

When I bought my Ostrich and Alligator from Aaron in Montreal, he had to ship them to a licensed importer in California, who then reshipped them to me. Not sure how it works in the other direction.

There are some things you might buy as souvenirs that you can't bring into Canada. For example, it is illegal to bring back: anything made of crocodile or python skin, ivory bracelets or carvings, I have not tried to bring genuine croc straps in but I rekon if the seller just declared it as a watch strap it should not cause a problem do you have or a friend have an address just across the border? If so just get it shipped to that, attatch it to your watch whilst there and simply wear the watch back! oh, and let me know how you get on with importing the watch from seiya if you would. I know when I have gotten things from Japan via EMS I have never had to pay customs fees.

I had them sent to work and had no issues with customs. I'm not worrying to much about the strap for now. I have a few brown 20mm straps to try out first.
