Looks like Constellation heritage. Nice pie pan dial.

If they keep it around 5500 or less, I think it will sell just fine.
If they go higher, which they likely will, they won't sell because it will be DJ money.

With the >15,000 gauss movement, tungsten carbide fluted bezel on SS model, and being the first chronometer certified to the new METAS standard, I don't see it being under $5500, but I think it's a lot better looking than the DJ as well.

I like how they used a gold rotor with some engravings on it. Great piece but with Omega prices rapidly rising, it'll be interesting to see how the general public reacts. Despite all Omega has to offer (more a lot of the time) people still seem to gravitate towards Rolex for those prices.

Public doesn't react well. They sit and sit and sit.
They doubled their prices in a few years and introduced way too many models.

Yeah, it seems as if they cut down the number of insanely "limited editions" but just went crazy with variety. I love the brand but can't see them getting away with the same stuff Rolex has been. They've priced a lot of their followers out of the market for new pieces. The day will also come where more folks will end up with an Audemars Piguet on their wrists instead of dropping large sums of money for something so mainstream. Either way, I'm interested to see what happens in a few years. The funny thing is I hardly see any of those new Omega watches for sale locally. Even eBay has very few compared to similar brands the last time I checked.

That's because nobody is buying them lol.
I was their biggest fan for the better part of my life, since I've been a kid. It hurts me to say this but their marketing people need to be let go.
You can't milk and milk an iconic brand and design from 40 years ago. You can't introduce a million non limited limited editions and expect people to go crazy for them.
Sadly, the omega Speedmaster professional is the only omega I would buy today. And that's because it's a watch from when omega was a watch company.

I figured as much because I NEVER see the updated models in person. Most people will find them too big, lacking versatility. My Omega's were sold for a reason and Rolex was the way for me to go. They're trying hard to be just like Rolex in many ways but I can't see this happening. We can complain all day long about price increases but the funny thing is buying a Rolex is the closest thing to an investment if it's kept for a while.
Given $10,000.00 to spend on a single watch (Planet Ocean Chronograph) my choice would be to either A) Get a Rolex or B) Wait a bit and get an Audemars Piguet. That aside though Omega should stay true to themselves instead of trying to match the pricing insanity. The funny thing is before these updates (price increases) there was a lot more buzz around the Omega line. For most it was a gateway to Rolex ownership anyway.

Now, that IS nice. I like the blue. So it is another homage to an older Omega from their heyday,: an updated Constellation Piepan. Not sure why they needed to change the name.. Must everything end in Master?

I'm like the blue St/St but as we've all mentioned the way Omega prices are going crazy. It's a shame because it's a brand I really like. Wish they'd stop trying to be "Rolex" and get back to been "Omega"
