True, and if you want to take a weekend trip to the States I know an AD that can save you a boatload of money on it. Maybe by the time I am able to get it, our dollar will get a bit stronger. I actually priced the Seamaster 300 in USD with a discount, but it was cheaper for me to get it up here - by the time I paid exchange plus 17% duty and taxes to get it here - it would have been more expensive for me. However, I expect that Omega will soon increase the CAD prices to compensate. My Seamaster here is current $6950CAD MSRP, which converts to $5200USD. I believe the MSRP in the US is $6500. When I priced Rolex watches on Monday, though, it seemed to me that their prices were now more in line with the USD prices. There are still a couple of Omega ADs here in Vancouver. I know that one will give a 20% discount, which would bring the price down to $5200CAD, which is only $3900USD. No wonder there are some folks from the US (so I'm told by the Boutique) who come up here to buy watches. Although I don't know what the import duty and taxes are into the US. But it must be worthwhile. Meanwhile, found a video on YouTube, which shows the bracelet:

Incredible attention to detail on these new Omega movements! I'm a huge fan of what they're doing with the exhibition casebacks. So much variety in their lineup as well, tough to not like them.

And, thanks to SwissClassicWatches.com, I learned more about the beautiful observatory medallion on the caseback: "The caliber 8900 is viewable via a sapphire case back having a medallion set directly into the crystal. This medallion shows an observatory encircled with a polished sky marked with eight stars representing the eight points of METAS certification as well as the eight chronometric records Omega occur the twentieth century" Link to their website: www.swissclassicwatches.com/classic-and-elegant-watch-omega-globemaster/If it wasn't for that detail, I would fare rather the watch had a solid steel caseback like back in the day.

I like how Omega keeps their history alive. That medallion was one thing that made me appreciate the Constellation watches. Having both that on the rotor and this work of art they call a movement on display is enough to make someone want one. Rolex and all of my other watches in the past lacked this feature so I'm glad they ditched the ETA movements even though they own them and went "in-house". Man, I could sit there holding a watch like that in my hand staring at that for hours!

I saw it at a boutique yesterday and liked it a lot. It's certainly much nicer in real life. Attachments:

The AR coating makes it very legible, just like most Omegas. Attachments:

Work of art, Indeed! Thanks for sharing those with us, Pete. Jeez, I get the feeling carl is in BIG trouble with this one. He won't be able to pass it up. That artwork on the rotor really adds a nice touch to it. The "Pie Pan" dial must be such a pleasure to view from various angles in person.

rxpeteThanks for the pics, Pete. If they had it at the Boutique there, it must mean we will get it soon here. I hope!

I just saw a new color combo on A Blog To Watch that I hadn't seen before.

Oh my! That thing looks great, Roger! I'm about to take a look on their website and see what's on there now if any.

I'm thrilled to see they're limiting the production to only 352 pieces. Excellent attention to detail (can't expect any less for this):

I'm thrilled to see they're limiting the production to only 352 pieces. Agreed - that's a real LE, unlike some of their 7,007 or 10,007 LE series!
