I am looking to acquire a decent set of screw drivers. What do you use, or what would you recommend purchasing, for adjusting bracelets etc

For a Rolex, nothing beats the original screwdriver that came with the old Seadwellers 16600. It's the only tool that I've seen that will perfectly fit the screws. As for other watches, I just have a cheap set. I don't even remember where I picked them up

I also have Jubilee Bracelets and they have smaller screw heads. On some of the older bracelets, the heads had been damaged, prior to my acquiring them. I have since had the screw pins replaced. I tried a generic screw driver on an aftermarket Jubilee and it did not go well for the screw heads, nor the driver tip. Just wondering if anyone had ideas on something better that the cheap kits available at hardware stores. Ofrei sells "French" sets that they rate very highly when compared to the expensive Bergeon tools. www.ofrei.com/page1362.htmlCheers Mark

I have the 5970 set on a rotating base your link to Ofrei refers to, although my range goes from .50 to 2.50mm. IMHO, aside from the various sizes, they're not worth it. The tips are soft and easy to bend/break.

It's tough for the smaller ones. My Raymond Weil has smaller screws likely around the same size as the Jubilee bracelet. For my Rolex Oyster Bracelet the Sea-Dweller tool kit is the way to go. I'm yet to find anything that small that doesn't bend or get destroyed easily as mentioned above.

No idea how much you intend to spend, but these are fairly cheap and are of very good quality - I use this set for modern watches as I have the blades dressed to fit modern screws (movement screws in vintage watches tend to have narrower slots, so I have another set for those): www.jewelerssupplies.com/product5317.htmlAlso, Casker are good people to deal with - I would say 1000% better than Otto Frei personally... But no matter what set you get, make sure you dress the blade to fit the slot of the screw you are working on. Cheers, Al

Are the ones from Otto Frei visibly bad ? I was thinking of getting a set myself... Would they not last long enough ?
