Man, with those pics Steve, it really is a gamble. Can't really get much of an idea on condition. Sure hope it works out well for you. Has the birth year Rolex arrived yet?

Yea I know Roger, bad pics but I know what it is, picked it up for under 2k and I expect I'll put another grand into getting it running but, it's a 5k watch all day. Looking for a handset and a little movement work, might be even less. No, still waiting on the birthyear to arrive, should be here in a day or so.

Hopefully this one works out well for you in the end, Steve. Yes, me too. I've been lucky before, sometimes you find a diamond in the rough, this one is rough indeed, needs hands, balance wheel and hairspring from what I can see, then it will be fine. These Prince Rolex are not cheap, worth more than a nice 5513, this one is sans hallmark on the dial but still it's worth between 5 and 6k restored and a I picked this one up cheap so I think it'll be worth it if I can source the parts.

I am so psyched about this watch you can't even imagine. I paid for it today and can't wait till it arrives.

Can't wait for it to arrive so we can see what it'll end up needed. This should be fun.

Thanks Rommel, it will be a cool journey I think, I still have to source some parts but I'll let my watchmaker tell me exactly what I need. The hands are going to be difficult, especially if I am going to try to get OEM. Not sure but hopefully somebody will have some laying around.

The worst thing about it is I'll probably end up keeping it and not make any money. So goes the story of a WIS addict.

Hey, as long as you're happy that's what matters most. Buy and hold isn't a bad strategy for watches one hopes to turn some sort of profit on. It's a win win. You enjoy yourself and itbhas potential for that to happen. If not, you still enjoyed yourself.
