I find my focus has changed over the last couple of years and have completed a ton of research before finally settling on this circa 1983 serial #8,230,xxx 16750 Minimally polished in the last 33 years Original dial and hands with matching egg shell patina Original bezel insert surprisingly free of scratches and a very nice fade that I find pleasing. (I have sourced a NOS correct original Pepsi insert to change up) It came on the original full link Oyster bracelet with H clasp code It currently wears a correct stamped "50" 62510H Jubilee that I acquired last year and had serviced by Michael Young in Hong Kong, a few months ago.

Can't go wrong with a GMT. My Explorer II has me hooked on the feature and a GMT Master II will for sure be in my future.

Mark - that is a stunner and if you ever decide to flip it, let me know. That is a model and condition I'd be proud to own. Roger thank you! I am fortunate to have local access to one of the most knowledgable and interesting characters in the GMT and vintage Rolex collecting business. Add two first class independent Rolex specialist watchmakers and I have a very interesting problem. I will keep you in mind if I do decide to give this one up. I would also be happy to help you acquire one of your own. There are a lot of really good guys out there.

Can't go wrong with a GMT. My Explorer II has me hooked on the feature and a GMT Master II will for sure be in my future. I could not agree more. Both are fabulous watches. I still think the earlier 1655 Explorer is one of the most interesting vintage models out there. The dial, hands and patina combinations are some of the most fascinating. Current market prices are certainly indicative of the that!

Indeed! Incredible how a watch that wasn't as popular before had those sorts of value increases. The way I see it, I'll only ever be a recreational diver well above the 100M mark. With a limited collection I rather have a useful feature I can play around with to make a great watch even more interesting in the long run.

I'm getting to appreciate the old GMT's more and more. Had one but sadly, let it go. Always on the hunt!
