This is a new LE Spring Drive GMT model. I could see in the display case the gorgeous green sunburst dial. The GS dials are a work of art, and I have never seen a green sunburst before. I didn't have my camera, and I was still in shock after looking at the Zenith Pilot Type 20 Extra Special, that I didn't even try it on. Perhaps next week, after I regain my composure, I will drop by and take a close look. With camera! Of course, it occurred to me that the only GS missing in my collection is a Spring Drive. I was also afraid to ask the price, as they have raised the prices already due to the weak Canadian Dollar. The MSRP in the US is $5100USD. Which I personally believe is a steal for this much watch. I would guess that it's at least $7000CAD now. Well, at least I now have a good reason to go back next weekend!

I haven't seen the green dial GS yet. I'm ready to see the pictures Hopefully, next week. Coming to a WWF forum near you! I read somewhere, I think a Timeless Luxury Watch review, that the sunburst dial is a touch lighter green than the Seiko Alpinist. That is a gorgeous watch as well, I saw the one that MuckyMark has and was very impressed. That is probably the one I should be looking at, and not the GS!

I'll take some photos of Steve's watch. Excellent! I hate to think of the consequences if I venture back to that GS AD next week!

I do have one complaint about it and it is strictly a matter of personal taste.
I like a dial that sits very close to the hands, with very little gap. The 24 hour chapter ring on this watch creates a taller sidewall, which in turn makes the sapphire sit a few mm above the hands. This is likely something that only bothers me, and it would not be enough to stop me from buying one if I was in the market for one.

Thanks, Chip! Now that I see the chapter ring up close, I kinda see what you mean. And what might be the deal breaker for me would be the lumed bits near the ends of the markers. And I had rather forgotten about the power reserve indicator as well. That does tend to clutter the dial. I love the feature on your Panerai, with the PR Indicator on the back.

I think Steve said this is the only dress GS with lume. He actually has an account here so I'm hopeful he will chime in. He also has a GS diver.

Hey Chip, please thank your friend Steve for sending those pics! Actually, I see that they have done that lume very well indeed. It is sort of embedded into the markers, not quite at the ends. With that chapter ring, the date window (which, unfortunately is white), the GMT hand and the Power Reserve, there is a lot going on there.

I don't mind the pr so much because it's small, but I find it kinda useless on an auto. It's always at max after wearing it a couple of hours.
